The proposed research project is divided in two major parts. In a first step, the interpretation of currently available results from the searches for supersymmetry in global fits of high dimensional SUSY models with the program Fittino will be planned and performed. In particular, we plan to develop new methods for an accurate and fast parametrisation of the results of searches in different final states that have been performed at the LHC. An important step is the calculation of the expected number of signal events in a given signal region for a given model of physics beyond the Standard Model. One goal of the proposed project is to find out if it is possible to split the calculation of this number into several steps by factorisation, and if such a procedure allows for a sufficiently fast calculation in a high dimensional model, thereby improving significantly the current implementation of LHC searches in the Fittino project. The results will be used to constrain the parameter space in a general, phenomenological, minimal supersymmetric model, taking into account additional measurements from the areas of astroparticle physics, cosmology and flavour physics. The preferred region of the parameterspace will be studied and the characteristics of the preferred parameter space can be used to define simplified models and signal regions for the second long data taking period at the LHC. In addition, we want to study models with anomalous couplings of the Higgs boson in global fits.
