Attitudes and conflict, longitudinal conflict analysis and randomized control trials (RCTs) in Asia and Africa (B07)

Subject Area Economic Policy, Applied Economics
Term from 2014 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 139943784

Building on the second funding period, this project provides novel insights into the dynamics between personal well-being and political violence. Utilizing expertise from economics and political science, it studies how political violence shapes the effectiveness of interventions to improve personal well-being and how improvements in health, community development and education influence individual attitudes towards extremism and terrorism. We combine randomized control trials with longitudinal data collection, geocoding of violent events and interviews in Central Asia and North-East Africa, with focus on Pakistan and Ethiopia.
