Cuprous iodide: epitaxy, diodes and ferromagnetism

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
African, American and Oceania Studies
Electronic Semiconductors, Components and Circuits, Integrated Systems, Sensor Technology, Theoretical Electrical Engineering
Term from 2014 to 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 255111354

Cuprous iodide is the first reported transparent conductor. Its potential as p-type semiconductor in functional bipolar diodes will be explored. The properties of and mechanisms in type-II heterostructure diodes with ZnO will be investigated. Theoretical predictions of ferromagnetism in transition metal doped CuI will be investigated experimentally.
