Mechanische Eigenschaften von metallischen Werkstoffen und ihre mikrostrukturellen Ursachen
Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
Technische Oberflächen verformen unter externer Belastung, wie z.B. beim Kontakt zweier Körper. Diese Verformung trägt maßgeblich zur Energiedissipation bei Reibprozessen bei. In diesem Projekt wurden viskoelastische und plastische Dissipationskanäle für ausgewählte Modellmaterialsysteme mit Hilfe theoretischer Methoden untersucht. Hierzu wurden auf kleinster Skala molekulare Modelle konstruiert, die über Parametrisierung viskoelastischer und plastischer Materialmodelle auf größere Längenskalen übertragen wurden. Für die Modellierung auf relevanten technischen Skalen wurden Randelementmethoden weiterentwickelt. Die gewonnenen Ergebnisse erlauben Einblicke in Dissipationskanäle und die relativen Beiträge von Plastizität, Viskoelastizität und Instabilitäten auf makroskopische Energiedissipation in trockenen Reibkontakten.
