In this project, we study magnetic states and their low energy excitations in novel materials by means of NMR, μSR, and Mössbauer spectroscopy, in particular also under hydrostatic and uniaxial pressure. Firstly, we will study magnetic insulators with geometric or spin-orbit-driven exchange frustration, with the goal to identify new systems and parameter ranges with quantum spin-liquid phases and related frustration driven states, such as non-collinear chiral magnetic order. Secondly, we will investigate magnetic nodal semimetals. These are expected to show a complex interplay between magnetism and topologically non-trivial band structures, whose signatures we want to uncover in our local-probe experiments.
