The German research training group gives support to highly qualified doctoral students to enable them to realize interdisciplinary research projects combining neurobiology and information sciences. Whenever possible the projects are supervised by two senior scientists from different faculties. The primary aim of the doctoral training program is to improve the participant's future career prospects in academia, research and development or industry. The scientific projects are supplemented by a modularly organized training and teaching program. The lectures, seminars, and laboratory training sessions are discussed and planned by all program participants with their senior scientists in order to take the individual interests and the aims of the program into consideration. From Spring 2001 on the German graduate program will be interlinked with a European Marie Curie Training Site entitled "Spatial Orientation: Sensorimotor System Research in Humans and Animals."
