Proteomes of higher organisms are characterized by large protein abundance differences, cell type- and time-dependent expression patterns, posttranslational modifications, protein interactions etc. all of which carry biological information that is complementary to, or not accessible by, genomic and transcriptomic technologies. This service project aims to enable research within numerous sub-projects of the SFB924 by providing scientific expertise, project planning, training, data generation and interpretation capacity in state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
