Project Details
Incremental forming of hybrid billets using cross wedge rolling (B01)
Subject Area
Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 252662854
In order to increase the robustness of cross-wedge rolling of hybrid workpieces, the aim of subproject B01 is to develop an inline process control. For this purpose, process monitoring will be expanded so that defects can be detected at an early stage of the process. Process deviations will be compensated by means of an automated, rule-based process control. The influence of the cross-wedge rolling process on the joining zone of aluminum-steel semi-finished products will be investigated in an automated and thus reproducible process. In order to further develop the knowledge gained so far on hybrid components in the direction of highly complex components, new demonstrators are also investigated both simulatively and experimentally.
