Project Details
Experimental-numerical method to predict damage and failure of interphases in hybrid workpieces during forming (C01)
Subject Area
Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 252662854
Using the experimental-numerical methods developed in the previous funding periods (FP), the development, damage and service life of the joining zone during a Tailored-Forming (TF) process can be predicted. With these methods, in the third FP a digital twin (DT) of the automated TF process of subproject S01 will be developed, using abstracted data models, which will allow estimating the product quality and especially the joining zone quality inline at every step of the process chain. By adjusting the particular remaining process of each part with particular inline information, given by the digital twin, a robust process shall be ensured. Additionally, the mechanisms of die wear caused by hybrid material contact will be investigated, modeled with the process data and implemented in the DT.
