Because of the exceedingly positive experience of the first funding period, the doctoral fellows of CRC 969 will be integrated also in the future into the graduate program Konstanz Research School Chemical Biology (KoRS-CB) that is funded by the Excellence Initiative from 2007 - 2017. The main objectives of the training program of KoRS-CB matches the needs of the doctoral fellows of the CRC 969. These are (1) to prepare its doctoral fellows for competitive careers in Chemistry and the Life Sciences at different institutions with different job profiles and (2) to sensitize doctoral researchers to the notion that it takes interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts to successfully approach present and future research problems and that this requires mutual scientific understanding and appreciation.
