The Specialized Information Service (FID) FID Sociology https://sociohub-fid.de is operated jointly by the University and City Library of Cologne, the GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and the Qualiservice research data center. The collaboration portal can be described as the strategic core of the FID; it offers researchers the opportunity to create an individual profile (with research focuses, publication lists, contact options, etc.), as well as to create groups and organize scientific work within these groups. In addition SocioHub is also further developing its Open Science offerings. The information materials on OA publishing are to be continuously supplemented and updated. SocioHub also enables the open access hosting of sociological journals and digitization on demand. The research data management services will be consolidated and further developed. The reference of research data will be further expanded. Researchers will be informed about RDM of qualitative data and supported by workshops and RDM tools. To further promote the cultural change towards data sharing in qualitative research, outreach to the specialist community will also be expanded and the broker function between the sociological community and research data centers (NFDI) will be continued. In the spirit of user-driven development, the exchange with the specialist community - both via the advisory board and directly with the users of SocioHub (including 134 research groups that currently use the collaboration portal) - as well as through intensive public relations work to ensure that the service offering is continuously aligned with the needs of the community and offers them real added value. In addition, the FID Sociology sees itself as an integral part of the overall FID system: it makes an active contribution to the further development of the system and organizes its own activities and developments in such a way that they are available for subsequent use for other FID.
