Applicant Regine Tobias, since 1/2024
Subject Area Religious Studies and Jewish Studies
Term since 2016
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 286008381

In close cooperation with the religious studies community, the Religious Studies Information Service has the task of providing central information services for religious studies research, which is widely distributed in Germany and therefore supplied with information in very different ways locally. The proposal therefore again contains an acquisition component including patron-driven acquisition to ensure the supply of literature. The main task is the content-related, qualitative and technical expansion of the bibliographic open access database RelBib as the central service of the FID. To this end, further journals are being added to the evaluation, retrospective volumes are being recorded, and further collective publications are being indexed. With the introduction of an encyclopaedia module and the continuation of the secondary publication programme, the proportion of full texts available in open access is increasing. The sub-project of the cooperation partner to integrate the archive of the Documentation Centre for Religious Pluralism at the University of Leipzig also serves to expand the content. Relbib is also intended to become a central hub for research data records. The planned establishment of a data exchange with some regional specialist information services aims at a better and more seamless supply of information for academic studies of religions. Furthermore, public relations work will be intensified and contact with scholars will be expanded, e.g. through participation in conferences and the organisation of workshops and conferences.
