Signaling pathways involved in the induction and function of myeloid-derived suppressor cells in liver inflammation (B09)

Subject Area Gastroenterology
Term from 2016 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 80750187

Chronic inflammation is a common effector and driver of liver disease, during which myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) are induced. We will investigate several aspects of MDSC biology in liver inflammation, including the role of CD44 in stellate cell mediation of MDSC induction, how high TGFβ signaling via the induction of Smad7 regulates MDSC induction and function and how lipid remodeling through Lpcat3, leading to altered eicosanoid production, can influence MDSC biology.
