Exotic Hadrons from Continuum QCD II

Subject Area Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, Fields
Term since 2016
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 290089880

The central goal of this project is to further improve a QCD-based, non-perturbative continuum framework for the calculation of masses and mixing matrices of four-quark, conventional meson and glueball states on basis of their quark and gluon content. The results of these calculations will be used to provide a theoretical foundation for the interpretation of data obtained in existing and future experiments. In particular we will address the fundamental questions of the internal structure of four-quark states (meson-meson vs. diquark-antidiquark) and the potential mixing between the exotic four-quark and glueball states with conventional mesons. An important technical goal of the project is to allow for explicit calculations in the complex energy plane taking the analytic structure into account. The project is organized into two parts which are associated with the physics below and above 1 GeV. Our theoretical tools are the Dyson-Schwinger and Bethe-Salpeter equations of Landau gauge QCD as well as the corresponding four-body equation for bound states and resonances.
