As a core task, the Z-Project will support young researchers to exchange subject-related skills, work techniques, and key qualifications both national and international levels. Each PhD student will have the opportunity to get feedback or supervision from the post-doc researcher from the Z-Project, who will also coordinate the planned Training Group 'RiskDynamics' and the included training activities which range from retreats for young researchers to specific training workshops and symposia. The Research Unit aims to provide high quality of conceptual and structural training by actively involving the post-doc researchers from the Z-Project in the supervision of PhD students. Moreover, the Z-Project will coordinate interaction with the Scientific Advisory Board, which will provide advice and feedback to the strategic committee, the individual research projects as well as the young researchers thus promoting their scientific careers. The Z-Project will organize contacts, visits, and exchanges with the members of the Scientific Advisory Board and external experts to facilitate intensive collaboration with leading experts in the field. The Z-Project will have an important role in streamlining exchange and collaboration among researchers in order to meet the goals of the Research Unit. Specifically, the conceptualizing and implementation of 'collaborative topics', which cut across all individual projects in order to meet challenges relevant to the whole Research Unit will be coordinated by the Z-Project. The Z-Project will also support the exchange between aligned research projects in order to facilitate the conjoint application of concepts, methodological approaches, measures, and data analysis strategies. All of these efforts are of great significance for young researchers because they provide a wide spectrum of additional conceptual and methodological qualification opportunities which extend beyond being integrated into a specific research project. The Z-Project will also be crucial to the organization of the exchange of research ideas and findings planned for the Research Unit. Specifically, the Z-Project, in cooperation with the SC, will plan and coordinate the retreats for the Research Unit, the Training Group 'RiskDynamics', research colloquia and workshops/symposia for young researchers, Scientific Advisory Board meetings, and the planned symposia for disseminating findings at the end of funding. Furthermore, the Z-Project will be in close contact with the University and Research Unit members to foster the goals of promoting young researchers (e.g., via the Zukunftskolleg), increasing gender equality, and ensuring family-friendly working conditions.
