The goal of the project is the experimental realization of long-rangecoherent interactions between Rydberg atoms mediated by asuperconducting coplanar microwave resonator at a finitetemperature. We seek to demonstrate that these interactions and theconditional excitation of pairs of spatially separated Rydberg atomscan be made insensitive to the photon number fluctuations of thecavity. With this we aim to explore novel schemes of quantum gatesbased on cavity-mediated coherent interactions between distant pairsof Rydberg atoms or atomic ensembles in the Rydberg blockaderegime that are feasible at the temperature of liquid helium (4K) onstandard atom chips.
