Project Details
Generation of effective antiviral CD4 T cell immunity in viral hepatitis and its association to unique signatures of transcription factors (03)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 272983813
Recent studies provide evidence for an important role of master transcription factors such as T-bet (T-box expressed in T-cells, Tbx21) to induce effective CD8+ T cell responses. Based on own data and data from others we hypothesize that the detailed characterization of T helper cell lineage-defining master transcription factors will be critical to identify protective signatures of antiviral immune responses. In this project we will therefore primarily define molecular biomarkers associated with success and failure of CD4+ T cell responses as a critical pre-requisite to devise T cell-based immune reconstitution therapies especially in HBV infection.
