Project Details
Time-resolved non-equilibrium spectroscopy on artificial atoms and molecules (A01)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278162697
The mechanisms and principles that govern the relaxation from non-equilibrium to equilibrium will be studied in fully-quantized system of self-assembled quantum dots by a unique combination of transport and optical spectroscopy techniques. The few-particle states will be prepared, manipulated and their relaxation dynamics will be studied by time-resolved transport and optical spectroscopy. The ultimate limit of single-dot and single-quantum event resolution will be used in combination with manipulation of the carrier dynamics by additional dots (forming molecules), additional carriers and external (electro-)magnetic fields.
