Role of B cell receptor signaling and acquired immunoglobulin gene changes in the development of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) (A09)

Subject Area Immunology
Hematology, Oncology
Term since 2016
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 217328187

Expression of the B cell antigen receptor (BCR) is a key feature of most B cell neoplasms including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In this project, we will investigate the molecular role of the BCR in CLL pathogenesis by using animal models for inducible inactivation of genes encoding signaling proteins that act downstream of the BCR. In addition, we aim at characterizing the BCR-intrinsic structures that enable mutual BCR interaction and activation of BCR signaling in CLL.
