Project Details
Investigation of fast de-wetting from substrates with complex surface morphologies (A03)
Subject Area
Fluid Mechanics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 265191195
The project focuses on the investigation of extremely fast, forced dewetting phenomena and the resulting characteristic instabilities and fluid residues on the substrate. In funding period 3, rheologically complex fluids (polymer solutions, dense nanosuspensions, hydrogels) will be investigated in the specially developed fluid bridge expansion experiment. In addition, the flows during dewetting, which are caused, for example, by a non-symmetrical morphology of the substrate, will be investigated. Finally, the flow in the vicinity of the propagating contact line, which is associated with wetting and dewetting, will be analyzed and modeled.
