The decision which bearing is used in press technology depends on their specific advantages and disadvantages. Most standard bearings only represent a compromise of the defined requirements. For that, a combined roller plain bearing was developed at PtU in terms of the project. In the project, a sensory monitored roller plain bearing is to be developed to investigate its functionality in detail. The project aims for the utilization of the bearings as sensory elements in press systems. With that, the determination of the actual conditions of the bearing and the press system should be enabled. Besides that, the bearing is to be equipped with active components to enable the manipulation of functionally relevant bearing properties.
