The aim of the transfer project is the thermo-energetic optimization of temperature control circuits in frame structures of machine tools made from high performance concrete (HPC). In particular, the focus of the investigations is on assuring and improving the thermal stability and, consequently, the production accuracy with a minimum of energy consumption. Especially challenging is the adaptation of the temperature control system to time-varying internal and external thermal loads as well as the control and regulation of complex three-dimensional heat flows within the machine frame. For this purpose, a methodology for optimum design, integration and control of the temperature system is developed on the basis of an existing HPC machine frame. This methodology is then applied to a new, improved functional demonstrator that allows its verification.
