Project Details
Function of C/EBPs in monocytes, macrophages and microglia (B11)
Subject Area
Molecular and Cellular Neurology and Neuropathology
Term
from 2017 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259373024
Pioneering transcription factors of the C/EBP family are key regulators of myelopoiesis and functional myelomonocytic diversification. Various C/EBP isoforms and dozens of post-translational C/EBP modifications downstream of signaling events may alter myeloid cell specification. We plan to elucidate the role of variegated C/EBP constituents on myeloid functions in microglia and monocytes using a two-tiered approach of targeted mouse genetics in combination with proteomics. These experiments are aimed to decipher C/EBP mediated immune and neuroimmune functions during healthy and inflammatory conditions.
