The LEGEND experiment searches for neutrino-less double-beta (0νßß) decay of 76Ge using HPGe detectors enriched in this isotope and operating in an ultra-low background liquid argon environment. The main objective of this project is to develop, operate, and characterize a complete prototype LEGEND-1000 detector string, to validate the design, and to prove that it meets the key performance parameters of LEGEND-1000.
