TUM and MPA joined forces to study the detection possibility of the DSNB in JUNO. Large sets of successful supernovae and black-hole formation models are used to derive improved predictions of the expected DSNB signal. Data taking in JUNO will begin in late 2021 or early 2022, and with 3 to 10 expected DSNB νe events per year, a 3 σ discovery seems possible after three years. We will identify the background noise with high accuracy, test several pulse shape discriminations, and then use the most efficient technique to extract the DSNB signal.
