We study the computational rules underlying homeostatic plasticity. Using experimental data from collaborators within the CRC1080, we will focus during the third funding period on the regulation of protein copy number during homeostatic plasticity by local protein synthesis and degradation (B01) and of synaptic AMPA receptor by endo- and exocytosis (B04). We will also use these results to model the impact of protein copy number on heterosynaptic plasticity and to derive predictions for network dynamics.
