Project C2 will study eye movements in non-human primates and humans to understand active visual inference in foveated visual systems. We will establish a naturalistic and dynamic video-stimulus set, and use it to measure eye-movements, visual neural responses and visual discrimination performance to the same stimuli. These data, as well concepts from Project C1, will inform computational models for predicting human gaze, which will combine deep neural networks with mechanistic models, and which will generate insights into the behavioural relevance of their constituent mechanisms.
