A^1-homotopy sheaves - new perspectives

This project deals with motivic homotopy theory, which plays an important role in algebraic geometry. The project aims to provide explicit computations of A^1-homotopy sheaves of algebraic varieties. The focus will be on the sheaf of A^1-connected components and the sheaf of A^1-fundamental groups of algebraic varieties and their relationship with other interesting invariants in algebraic geometry. We also aim to completely determine the A^1-fundamental groups of reductive algebraic groups.
