Verteilung von Schwefel zwischen primärem und sekundärem Stoffwechsel
Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
After a disappointing start when the expected results could not be repeated the project went a different way. We have generated number of multiple mutants in S assimilation that allowed to manipulate contents of individual S compounds, uncoupling e.g cysteine and GSH concentration. These mutants will be used to a more detailed analysis of control of the pathway. In addition, we isolated a number of new drought resistant mutant and found a new link between sulfation pathways, stomata density, and drought resistance, that will be further followed. Finally, the links of sulfation pathways and mitochondria are very interesting and will allow to address several questions, such as the driver for mitochondrial localization of SAL1 and the contribution of mitochondria to overall PAP synthesis.
