Project Details
Heterogeneity and Imprinting of Long-lived Plasma Cells (24)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
from 2017 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215346292
Project 24 addresses the hypothesis that subsets of antibody-secreting plasma cells in the bone marrow underlie different regulation and that antibody-independent functions permit differential crosstalk in their environment. Having identified novel homeostatic CD45neg and CD56+ plasma cell subsets characterized by selective expression of a multiple Wnt signature including DKK-1, project 24 will now analyse the function of CD45 and CD56 for the survival and adhesion of novel plasma cell types, their imprinting. Further we will evaluate the role of DKK-1 and other Wnt ligands and signaling modules for the integrity, survival and crosstalk of plasma cell subsets in the human bone marrow.
