Project Details
Understanding the mechanisms leading to autoimmune adrenalitis by generating the first experimental animal model (A03)
Subject Area
Public Health, Healthcare Research, Social and Occupational Medicine
Term
from 2017 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 314061271
(I) Characterise in detail the experimental autoimmune adrenalitis (EAA) model by assessing effects of autoimmunity on adrenal function and steroidogenesis as well as investigate the inflammatory cell infiltrate to the adrenal glands.(II) Understand the underlying auto-immune mechanisms of EAA in order to optimize further model development. In particular, we will determine whether Th1- versus Th17-mediated cell responses dominate in EAA generation.(III) Study the role of immunomodulatory interventions in the context of EAA.
