We will adapt our mouse differentiation protocol to human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to generate steroid-producing adrenocortical cells for studying development and drug testing. Furthermore, this project investigates the complex interactions between the adrenal cortex and medulla, focusing on their hormonal regulation and developmental dynamics. Additionally, we will explore the effects of mutations linked to hereditary conditions and how stress impacts adrenocortical stem cells. Ultimately, this research aims to enhance treatments for adrenal diseases, including adrenal insufficiency.
