Towards personalized treatment strategies for aggressive PPGLs: novel biomarkers and therapeutic approaches (B11)

Subject Area Endocrinology, Diabetology, Metabolism
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 314061271

In project B11, we aim to advance precision therapy for metastatic paraganglioma—a rare cancer with limited treatment options. Building on insights from previous funding periods, our goal is to enable personalized clinical decision-making by identifying actionable molecular biomarkers and evaluating targeted treatment strategies. To this end, we have established unique preclinical models—including patient-derived primary cultures and the first xenograft model of metastatic PPGL—which provide an unprecedented platform for biomarker discovery and therapeutic testing.
