Project Details
Pathophysiology and advanced approaches for subtyping and diagnostic stratification in primary aldosteronism (B15)
Subject Area
Endocrinology, Diabetology, Metabolism
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 314061271
B15 investigates the pathophysiology and diagnosis of aldosterone-producing adenomas (APAs). Single-nucleus transcriptome and epigenome APA data will be integrated with spatial transcriptomic and proteomic maps to identify genotype-linked mechanisms driving tumourigenesis. Plasma steroidome profiling from the 900-patient PROSALDO biobank, will couple molecular findings to clinical phenotypes. Newly discovered biomarkers will feed into a regulatory-compliant, machine-learning decision-support tool for streamlined stratification of patients with PA.
