Project Details
Selective targeting of hepatocytes using multifunctional block copolymer micelles to restore critical cellular signaling functions (C03)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
from 2017 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 316213987
The aim of this project is to design multifunctional core-shell-corona micelles with controllable size, net charge, and charge density that allow for cell-type specific delivery of siRNA into hepatocytes while deliberately avoiding macrophages. Covalent placement of targeting dyes on the surface of the nanostructures (e.g., polymethine dyes) will be a strategy to achieve an efficient and cell-type specific delivery of phosphoinositid-3-kinase (PI3K)-γ attacking substances reflecting a promising strategy to prevent sepsis-associated hepatic dysfunction.
