Control/Space: The Spatiality of Digital Infrastructures in Contextures, Maps and Discourses (B02)

In the second phase, the subproject expands from the digitized mode of operation in control spaces to the spatiality of digital infrastructures, which include internet control spaces and mappings of the internet, as well as discourses on digital spaces. Understandings of the spatiality of digital infrastructures will be investigated in comparative research carried out in Germany and India. B02, among other things, focuses on potential conflicts between the spatial figure of the network and that of the territorial space. The spatiality of the internet technologies analyzed will provide important insights into refiguration processes with a view to (further) digital mediatization.
