Subject Area
Empirical Social Research
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 290045248
The subproject analyzes locative media in their capacity as powerful spatial infrastructures. The central research question is how Google Maps, as the most popular and therefore hegemonic geographical information infrastructure, impacts the construction of spaces, either through the large-scale use of the application or its use in spatial planning and design processes. The project focuses on aspects of spatial knowledge and the production of in/visibility in the context of infra-structuring regimes.
