Two main work packages aim to accurately describe evaporation and salt precipitation in the region between a turbulent flow and a partially saturated porous medium. WP 1 focuses on the development, validation, and application of pore-resolved modelling, including DNS, LES, and RANS-VOF approaches. WP 2 builds on these results to integrate pore-scale processes into a scale-bridging hybrid modelling framework, enhancing the efficient computation of REV-scale systems.
