The potential of carbon fibres in current applications is not exploited by far because the highly complex mechanisms of the structure formation during the fibre manufacturing and the cross-scale process parameter structure property relations are investigated in individual aspects only and are therefore not scientifically understood. The objective of the project is the tailoring of ductility and electric conductivity of carbon fibres via the graphene orientation of graphene-modified precursors and their thermomechanical conversion. The investigations are supposed to contribute to a higher understanding of the process structure relations of carbon fibres. It should be shown that the prop-erties of carbon fibres can be tailored in a wide spectrum.
