Project Details
Combined theoretical and experimental studies on the impact of plasma-generated species on surface modifications and catalytic properties of well-defined electrodes and photocatalytic materials (B04)
Subject Area
Theoretical Chemistry: Molecules, Materials, Surfaces
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 327886311
By coupling the reaction system with a well-characterised plasma, our joint experimental operando studies and theoretical simulations will investigate plasma-induced structural and electronic transformations at catalytic interfaces using well-defined single-crystal and alloy electrodes and photocatalysts. Furthermore, we will investigate the role and influence of reactive plasma species on reaction pathways, adsorption energetics and the stability of key intermediates in model electrocatalytic reactions (e.g., HER, CO2RR, NO3RR).
