The project researches the economic impacts of renewable-energy production, focussing on geothermal development in Kenya, in two main areas: While economic-geography research deals with industrial and agricultural value chains and industrial-park developments, anthropological research concentrates on socio-economic changes for affected populations. For both, money and capital flows, geothermal direct-use and the development of visions for the future are central research subjects.
