In this project we plan to elaborate radically new optical functions fundamentally based on properties of single Single (and Multi) Walled Nano Tubes (SWNT/ MWNT) sorted in sequential order versus their fundamental characters. The purpose of S-five project (Sort Single Single-wall nanotube of Specific Sizes) is to apply two very different and innovating (for use in nano-technologies) sorter of individual nanoscale objects: Holographic Optical Tweezers assisted-by selective absorbing and photoluminescence properties of each nano-objects and Electrophoresis micro-fluidic Cells. Nano-objects will be elaborated by optimised methods of homo and hetero atomic MWNT and SWNT. Quantification of optical properties and linked chiral signatures of each nano-object will be reached by performing 3D Atomic Probe experiments. Building up optical functions linked to the fundamental character of a collection of sorted nano-objects will result from such a sort.
