Multicatalytic synthesis with 1,3-dipoles in microfluidic systems

Subject Area Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term from 2018 to 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 251124697

The proposed research project aims at the combination of photocatalytically generated 1,3-dipoles with sequential further catalytic (enantioselective) transformations (including Lewis acid, organocatalysis as well as photocatalysis) in a multicatalytic setting to access valuable, multifunctionalized heterocycles and acyclic building blocks in sequential one-pot transformations, respectively corresponding flow chemistry combinations. Microfluidic set-ups are not only of importance due to their beneficial effects, e. g. in terms of increased productivity or improved light penetration in photochemical reactions, but should also be used here to facilitate the monitoring of the reaction outcome. Inline separation and analysis available from lab-on-a-chip technology is proposed to offer new insights in reaction and mechanistic analysis and accelerated method optimization.
