Automorphic forms on orthogonal groups play an important role in the representation theory of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras and in the theory of moduli spaces. The goal of this project is to derive dimension formulas for certain spaces of automorphic forms on higher rank orthogonal groups by applying the Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch theorem to suitable toroidal compactifications of the corresponding locally symmetric spaces.
