Applicant
Professor Dr. Henning Urlaub
Subject Area

Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 405974719
Mass spectrometry based proteomics has matured into a central technique to address analytical questions in cell biology and has extended its scope well into structural biology. It can provide answers to the state of protein populations in different cellular conditions both qualitatively and quantitatively. In particular, protein modifications can be assessed quantitatively, as well as protein-protein, protein-nucleic acids, and protein-ligand interactions can be resolved and elucidated at the amino acid level. This Z-project outlines mass spectrometric services provided to the SPP2141 project required to address questions on proteomics and structural biology regarding applications of CRISP-Cas systems in archae and eubacteria.
