Final Report Abstract

In this collaborative DFG project we wanted to understand the stabilization mechanism of bulk nanobubles. Our Chinese partner Prof. Sun from Tsinghua university focused on studying bulk nanobubbles as ensembles, while at OvGU we look at individual nanobubbles. Within this project we have developed models that explain the stability of nanobubbles, tested the effect of temperature and ion-concentration, developed novel techniques to generate nanobubbles on the substrate and in the bulk volume and have shared this knowledge with 10 publications, including 2 Physical Review Letter publications. Additionally, we have organized the international conference on ”Nanobubbles 2022” at OvGU and contributed with two review articles to dissemination of subject knowledge.
