The funding proposal submitted by Bayerische Staatsbibliothek focuses on the cross-regional provision of relevant electronic resources for scholarship and science. Apart from improving access to academic resources the proposal puts major emphasis on the development of licensing standards and innovative licensing models within the framework of the Open Access transformation process. The project covers the purchase of modularly structured e-book collections of the publisher Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft (Nomos eLibrary). Within the context of the Call for Proposals “Open Access Transition Agreements” and in continuation of an existing Alliance licence for the years 2017/18 a golden Open Access component is added to the current framework. Scholars of participating institutions are offered the opportunity to publish their books in Open Access at favourable terms. Books which are available online in Open Access do not count towards the package prices under the licence part of the agreement. The project thus intends to contribute to the Open Access transformation process with particular emphasis on monographic works.
