After the technical infrastructure and the content concept of the open access journal “Kriminologie - Das Online-Journal | Criminology - The Online Journal” has been developed and successfully established during the first funding period, it is to be further developed conceptually as part of the requested extension. This should ensure that the journal is optimally equipped to meet the challenges of the future. This is to be achieved through a total of five work packages. The first of these is marketing. Here it is planned to further publicize the journal by participating in national and international conferences and, in this context, to carry out advertising measures in particular and, if necessary, to participate in specialist discussions on the topic of “Open Access”. All of this was only possible to a very limited extent during the first funding period due to the pandemic situation. Furthermore, the development and implementation of a marketing strategy for social media channels will be added. The subject of a second work package will be the establishment of a non-profit association (Verein). With the associated possibility of generating income through events and donations, among other things, a permanent financial basis for the magazine is to be created for the period after the end of the requested extension. In addition, KrimOJ is to be expanded to include a podcast that will reach a new group of recipients. A corresponding concept is being developed for this. In a fourth work package, the frequently expressed interest of the academic community in a centralized source of information on criminological conferences will be taken into account. It is therefore intended to develop a corresponding concept for this as well, with the aim of presenting all relevant conferences on the existing KrimOJ homepage and reporting on them afterwards. Finally, we would like to obtain an impact factor for KrimOJ through indexing at Web of Science, as some of the authors need this for international comparability and to fulfill certain requirements in qualification or application procedures.
