Final Report Abstract

Alpha-like correlations in various nuclear systems were investigated. In particular, self-conjugated 4n nuclei(12C, 16O, 20Ne) were studied, but also other isotopes and halo nuclei. The formation of a quantum condensate is an exciting phenomenon, and the BEC-BCS transition was addressed. The "Quartetting wave function approach" was continued and the alpha decay of various isotopes was treated. An improvement of the shell model was intended to describe few-nucleon correlations. An important in-medium effect is Pauli-blocking, first calculations for 2p nuclei were performed. The formation of light clusters was investigated in ternary fission of actinides, and the contribution of correlations in the continuum and the dissolution of weakly bound nuclei due to Pauli-blocking at the scission point were shown.
