Project Details
Forming of a Functionally Tailored Hybrid Pinion Gear (T02*)
Subject Area
Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term
from 2019 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 252662854
The aim of TP T2 is to apply the results of TP B3 and C1 of the first funding period to an application-oriented dynamically highly loaded demonstrator whose initial geometry corresponds to a pinion gear shaft from the product portfolio of the application partner (NSK Europe Ltd.). The pinion shaft preform is produced by impact extrusion of friction-welded steel-aluminium semi-finished products. The central focus of the investigations is the characterisation of the hybrid pinion shafts by means of load and service life tests and the correlation of the resulting parameters with the production-specific variables (friction welding geometry, forming parameters, etc.).
